About Shane
 

Shane Walker is a self taught multi-disciplined artist who has been freelancing full-time since 2016. Shane grew up in the small coastal town of Waihi Beach and now resides in Wānaka, New Zealand. He has a wide range of talents, from mural art and portraiture, to realism and Kiwiana. You will see a strong influence from the idyllic scenery and world famous beaches from around New Zealand. Shane also draws inspiration from the classic New Zealand culture and often finds quirky ways to incorporate this in his works.

You can find murals by Shane throughout New Zealand and internationally, having completed a award winning mural in Tasmania for the Sheffield mural fest 2019.

Shane has won multiple awards for his mural work nationally and internationally, he has painted in multiple street art festivals in NZ including South Sea Spray and Street Prints.

Shane has been a creatives in schools artist, completing a large mural with Te Puke Intermediate and multiple murals at Waihi Beach School. Shane has experience working alongside and mentoring students to complete public artwork at their Kura.

Shane has built relationships with a variety of previous clients like businesses, franchises, schools and council groups. These include: Chorus, Snow Machine, Future Bars, Tect, WBOPDC, Tauranga City Council, Rotorua Council, Epro Ltd, Keep NZ Beautiful Waihi, Open Air Art and many small business.

His studio works are held in NZ and international collections.
